Speaker, Business Mentor, Entrepreneur, Lifestyle Engineer, and Health + Prosperity Coach

 

Takeyah Young Headshot Washington, DC     Takeyah Young is a creative and industrious thinker, engaging speaker, lifestyle and leadership coach, operations consultant and STEM advocate.

She received her bachelor’s degree at Lincoln University of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania before earning her Masters in Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park. She continued her education through management, leadership and project management certificates at the Johns Hopkins University. She supported her exploration with a range of educational opportunities that enhanced her journey. She completed coach training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and transformational leadership classes at the Maryland University of Integrative Health. It is a beautiful synergy, and her clients’ results remind mind her how to continue using her gifts.

An engineer by training, an educator in practice and an entrepreneur at heart, Takeyah Young provides life and leadership solutions through personal transformation, professional development and entrepreneurship. Over the past 10 years she has made her mark by aligning values and actions with results, helping her clients meet their objectives with practical strategies, greater self-awareness and clarity. In recent years, she has stepped into the discussion of gender and race in technology and tech entrepreneurship.

She is the CEO of Takeyah Young & Associates, a lifesyle and leadership consultancy that supports women leader, innovators and entrepreneursAs a speaker, Takeyah works with universities, colleges, corporations and nonprofit organizations across the country to support inclusive STEM engagement, coach groups to help them achieve personal and organizational change and establish herself as a mentor to women in varying stages of their STEM experiences. She has been a speaker at Blogging While Brown, Honey Shine, Inc., Happy Black Woman Side Hustle Bootcamp, Heal a Woman, Heal a Nation, Diaspora Demo Startup Summit and various college and community organizations across the United States. She is a Lifestyle Engineer at Core Connection Lifestyle where she helps women in innovation and STEM develop their Authentic Lifestyle Equation. She believes that each of us have an equation that equals clarity and confidence in our bodies and minds; her work helps people design that space.

Prior to this, she was selected by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, through the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme, to serve an teacher in an English-language intensive high school in Japan. She served as the Diversity Chair for the Center for Talented Youth at the Johns Hopkins University, the Interim Director of Alumni Relations for Lincoln University and enjoyed a 10-year experience as a Mathematics Professor and educator.

Academic grounding in the sciences has cultivated her interest in problem-solving while preparing her to function in a world of rapid scientific change. She has been able to use her systems-based approach, analytic thinking skills and understanding of science and technology in combination with her interest in personal development and organizational empowerment to help organizations grow with a little less pain than expected.

Takeyah Young was recognized as a changemaker by the White House Summit on the United States of Women, included in Innov8tiv’s Top 100 Women Visionary Leaders to Watch; and selected by Lincoln University as one of their “Top 40 Under 40” Alumni.

For years, she kept her STEM training, health and lifestyle interests and business passions in separate worlds, until she brought those elements together to launch Takeyah Young & Associates. She has committed her life to helping women live well and prosper.
